Lawrence Steinfeld a diamond merchant and jeweller was educated in South Africa and trained as a diamond setter first in South Africa and then spent four years in Hatton Garden in London England UK.

He returned to South Africa to start a very successful business with his father from 1969 to 1985. After the passing of his father, Lawrence and his wife Hilary then started a new business in 1985.

Hilary Steinfeld is also a jeweller was educated in South Africa. She did one year business collage training and worked as a personal assistant to the General Manager of Stannic. She the completed a course in diamond grading after which she started working with Lawrence and his father until they started their own company in 1985.

Lawrence and Hilary were voted chairman and secretary of the Jewellery Council of South Africa (J.A.S.A.) from 1987 – 1989. They then started their own manufacturing factory employing ten people and also training of apprentices.

In 2002 they opened a Jewellery business in the UK based in London, LNH Jewellery Design Ltd and have a large private clientele exporting bespoke jewellery.

Our workshop has the distinction of being a winner in the 2000 Anglo Gold sponsored Riches of Africa jewellery design competition.
